Physical Education

Physical Education 10, 20, 30 (6 credits each)

The main focus of Physical Education is to teach students through a variety of activities to lead active healthy lifestyles. The four General Outcomes in Physical Education are Activity, Benefits, Health, Cooperation, and Do It Daily...For Life. Voyageur Points are implemented into our PE programs as a way for students to demonstrate leadership and particapation with the school community, both inside and outside of the classroom. Students will also learn about healthy eating through a nutrition module.

Soccer Physical Education 10, 20, 30 (7 credits each)

Students will receive soccer instruction that covers the curriculum outcomes and credit completion of Physical Education 10. Student training includes a focus on tactical and technical activities. The focus will be on individual soccer skills, and students will advance their knowledge of working in a team environment. Students registered in the course will receive a full uniform (jersey, shorts and socks). They will also receive extra instruction relating to nutrition and coaching.

Healthy Living Physical Education 10, 20, 30 (Females) (6 credits)

Healthy Living is a Physical Education course that focuses on leading an active lifestyle through non-traditional practices. Girls will have the opportunity to learn how to be healthy while
participating in fitness activities including yoga, circuit training, dance, and High Intensity Interval Training. Students will learn about healthy eating through a nutrion module.

CrossFit LaZerte Level 1, Level 2, Level 3 (5 credits each)

If you are interested in increasing your fitness to improve your performance on a sports team or just to look and feel better, CrossFit is for you. This introductory CrossFit class will teach you many full body movements that will increase your strength, flexibility, power and stamina. Every level of fitness is welcome, and we guarantee you will see significant improvements in your fitness goals. Come see what all the craze is about!

Functional Fitness 10, 20, 30 (5 credits each)

In these courses, you’ll learn about fundamental training principles, proper nutrition and sports psychology. These courses provide a great opportunity for students to get in better physical shape and improve their health-related knowledge while participating in a variety of fitness activities. They combine classroom theory and practical application in the areas of personal health, wellness and performance.

Sport Medicine 15, 25, 35 (5 credits each)

  • Recommendation: 65% in Science 9

These courses will introduce students to the world of sports medicine and allow them to explore the prevention, immediate care and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. Students will get hands-on experience in sports first aid and taping and strapping while learning the functions and purpose of the musculoskeletal system. Sports Medicine 15 is a great introduction course for students thinking of a medical career.
